Dr. Art Flores
Dr. Flores is co-founder and co-owner of STPA.  He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas and a licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).  Dr. Flores received his Bachelor of Arts degree in education from St. Mary’s University; a Master of Education degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University; and his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Texas A&M University.  He is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiner’s of Psychologists and has been in private practice for over 20 years, specializing in autism spectrum and other childhood neurodevelopmental disorders. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Flores obtained additional training in the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorders under the tutelage of Dr. Eric Schopler, who developed the TEACCH Structured Teaching Model for children with autism at the University of N. Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Other mentors at Division TEACCH who played a significant role in Dr. Flores’ training in the assessment and treatment of individuals with autism include Dr. Roger Cox and Dr. Jack Wall.  He has conducted numerous parent and teacher trainings regarding Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders, and Behavior Management throughout the state of Texas, as well as in the states of Arkansas, New Mexico, and California. He currently teaches in the Department of School Psychology at Trinity University in San Antonio.  He is a former artillery officer and veteran of the United States Army.  Dr. Flores is bilingual in English and Spanish.
