If you're feeling depressed or anxious, try these strategies.
Keep in touch
You’re in voluntary quarantine, not forced isolation. Don't completely withdraw from your life. Keep in contact with friends and family through text, phone calls, and social media. We are social beings and socializing can improve your mood
Physical activity can improve your mood. Walk around your yard or exercise in your home. Keeping active is vital for overall health.
Coming to terms with fear
Face your fear!! Don't avoid things that frighten you or that you find to be difficult. Anxiety and depression may cause you to avoid talking to others. This can lead to loss of confidence and or isolation.
Don't over consume alcohol
In this difficult time, you might be tempted to drink more alcohol than usual as a way to cope with or hide your emotions. You may inadvertently drink more because there is nothing else to do! However, increased alcohol consumption can magnify symptoms of anxiety and depression so drink responsibly!!
Eat as healthy as possible
In a situation like this, we may have a tendency to over eat, snack more frequently, or increase sugar intake. Poor diet can contribute to increased depression and anxiety.
